Power and Performance
Each model is underpinned by a standard All-Wheel Drive system that. The Legacy gets a 2.5-liter H4 engine, while the Impreza has a smaller 2.0-liter H4 engine. Therefore, the Legacy comes with more power, with up to 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. The Impreza, on the other hand, has better fuel economy, with up to 28/37 MPG* (city/hwy) compared to the Legacy's 26/36 MPG* (city/hwy). Depending on whether or not you prefer power or efficiency, you can find what you're looking for in each model.
The Legacy is also larger than the Impreza, with up to 188.8 inches in length and 72.4 inched in width. While the Impreza is smaller, that does make it more capable in tight city spaces and parking garages. If you want more room overall, stick with the Legacy, however. This also means that the Impreza is only 3109 pounds, while the Legacy weighs in at 3455 pounds.
